A Harmony "Bobkat" Guitar - Model H-15.
This model is the sunburst model, as opposed to the "Kolorkats" in red and seafoam green, which are a little rarer. These Bobkats are a true piece of American rock and roll history and still play and have that special sound from the De Armond pickups, etc. The two "Kleenex Box" style single coil De Armond pick ups on this guitar are very similar in design to a Gibson P-90 pickup, but are considered as good if not better and certainly have a great and special tone.
The De Armond "Golden Tone" pickups were built to a De Armond design by Rowe Industries in Chicago and were mounted at an angle to enhance tonal effect. The slim line neck and narrow bound fingerboard were popular with many players. The H-15/16 came in three rich colors, H-16R Candy Apple red, H16B Metallic Blue and H16W Gleaming white and the H-15 Sunburst.This is a very good example of the sunburst model of these great guitars.
This guitar plays well and has a great sound from the De Armond classic pickups. All in very good condition. We do not clean, set up or re string the instrument before shipping, we find most guitarists and collectors have their own set up preferences. We do, however make sure all instruments can be nicely set up.
